The 95th edition of the All-India MCC-Murugappa Gold Cup Hockey Tournament is set to kick off on October 30 and will conclude on November 6. The tournament will be held at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The tournament will feature eight teams divided into two pools. Pool A consists of defending champions Indian Oil Corporation, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board, Air India, and Tamil Nadu. Pool B consists of Army Sports Institute, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Western Railway, and Punjab & Sind Bank.
The teams will play each other in a single round-robin format. The top two teams from each pool will qualify for the semi-finals. The semi-finals will be played on November 4, and the final will be played on November 6.
The tournament is one of the most prestigious hockey tournaments in India. It has been won by some of the biggest names in Indian hockey, including Dhyan Chand, Balbir Singh Sr., and Udham Singh Kullar.
