Early Life and Career
Born Kim Namjoon on September 12, 1994, RM initially went by the stage name Rap Monster. He joined Big Hit Entertainment as an idol trainee and eventually became the leader of the popular K-pop group BTS.
Solo Success
In addition to his work with BTS, RM has released successful solo projects. His debut solo mixtape, "RM," was released in 2015 and was praised for its introspective lyrics and experimental sound. He also collaborated with various artists, including Wale and Lil Nas X.
