Jose Siri Out of the Lineup Thursday

Rays' Siri Dealing with Hamstring Tightness

According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Jose Siri is out of the lineup Thursday due to hamstring tightness. Siri, acquired from the Houston Astros over the offseason, has picked up right where he left off last year, hitting .367/.450/.684 with two home runs and five RBIs in eight games.

This is the second time this season that Siri has been out of the lineup due to hamstring issues. He missed two games earlier this month with the same problem.

The Rays Will Miss Siri's Bat

Siri has been one of the Rays' best hitters this season, so his absence will be felt. He is a good contact hitter with power, and he can also steal bases. Siri is also a good defender in center field.

With Siri out of the lineup, the Rays will likely move Manuel Margot to center field and start Brett Phillips in right field.

Siri Expected to Return Soon

There is no timetable for Siri's return, but he is expected to miss only a few games. The Rays are off on Monday, so Siri could potentially return to the lineup on Tuesday.

The Rays are hoping that Siri's hamstring tightness is not a serious injury. He is a key player for them, and they need him to be healthy for the rest of the season.
