US Basketball Takes On Canada
Debut of Star-Studded USA Team
The long-awaited debut of the star-studded Paris-bound USA team finally arrived as Steve Kerr's squad entertained Canada in a rematch of the FIBA Americas Championship. The USABMNT won their first warm-up game since their roster was announced for the Olympic Games Paris 2024, defeating Canada 92-88. Jayson Tatum led the way for the United States with 25 points, while Steph Curry added 21 and Kevin Durant contributed 18. Team USA will continue their Olympic preparations with four more exhibition games before heading to Paris.
A North American Showdown
The game was a closely contested affair from start to finish. Canada led by five points midway through the fourth quarter, but the United States rallied back to take the lead with less than four minutes remaining. Tatum hit a key three-pointer with just over two minutes left to give the United States a four-point lead, and they held on for the victory. The win was a good start for the USABMNT, but they know they still have plenty of work to do before they are ready to compete for a gold medal in Paris.
